Switched to HTTPS
I recently switched the WordPress and domain name hosting for this blog from Bluehost to SiteGround, and enabled https in the process.
Aside from unexplained increases in the Bluehost costs (they switched me to a more expensive “Upgrade Plus Hosting” which I neither requested nor desired, with no obvious way to opt out), they had also ignored my requests for information on supporting Let’s Encrypt TLS/SSL certificates. So SiteGround it is.
SiteGround made the migration a breeze with their migration assistance, but what impressed me most was how trivial it was setup a Let’s Encrypt SSL/TLS certificate and enable it on the site. Took about 60 seconds. Very impressed.
All requests to http://www.shaunabram.com will now auto-redirect to https://www.shaunabram.com
