Summaries

I post a lot of summaries on this blog of other people’s talks, blog posts, whitepapers, reports and books. See them at http://www.shaunabram.com/tag/summary

I’m not trying to take credit for others’ work. I always include links to the originals. It’s just that I’ve found the best way for me to get the most from material and understand it more deeply is to read, copy and summarize. Sometimes I just restate the sections that connected with me most. Sometimes I slice, dice and rehash, perhaps even bastardizing the sources into points the original authors never intended.  I hope they can forgive me.

“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.”

― Oscar Wilde

I typically only do it for resources I really like. For some, I may even create both an abridged version, and a shorter, more concise summary too.
